Wallpaper is back in a major way in the interior design world and we are here for it. If you’re looking to add color and pattern to your home to really make a space feel all your own wallpaper is a great way to make that happen! We’re seeing it used in unexpected places and there are so many options available, you’re bound to find one you love. Here are three of our favorite ways to creatively incorporate wallpaper into a home.
1. Add personality to a powder bathroom.
A powder bathroom is a great place to use wallcovering to really take a risk and go all out. Because this small room is visually separated from the rest of your house it’s a great place to have some fun and add personality (dare we say a little funk?!). This is the perfect space because you can contain bold colors and patterns within this room without having to integrate them throughout the rest of your home. We love the moody tones and fun pattern that Lilianne Steckel Interior Design incorporated into this Austin penthouse.
2. Line the Back of Built in Open Shelving
If you’re looking to add color and pattern into main living spaces, and throw pillows aren’t quite getting the job done, we love to add wallcovering to the back of built-in shelving. The shelves create a perfect frame for the paper and it’s a fun but not overwhelming way to add some personality to a room. We love the pattern and metallic touch wallcovering added to these shelves by Sandra Fox Interiors.
3. Go bold with a ceiling treatment
Looking to make a bigger impact and want to add an unexpected and creative touch to a room? Add wallcovering to the ceiling! We love the whimsy of pattern in an unexpected place while also drawing your eye up into the room– trust us, this one will leave your friends talking!
